At any given time, you might:

  • Assist a financial services client to predict customer attrition before it happens.
  • Help a healthcare payer organization develop a complete view of their customers across all touchpoints and interactions.
  • Assist a mid-size bank in measuring interactions based upon the level of customer effort required.
  • Work with clients to uncover new, untapped sources of business insight by defining multiple levels of data within their organizations and establishing the appropriate governance processes, systems, and teams.

100 Days: Take a glimpse into your first few months on the job. 

Our clients’ needs change every day — and so do the projects our consultants work on. No two career paths are the same for our employees, just like no two days will be the same. Here’s a glimpse of one consultant’s journey. When you join WMP, you’ll create your own!


Day 1: Meet your new work family. 

You’re introduced to the West Monroe Advanced Analytics practice, who you’ll collaborate with on a daily basis. On your team, you’ll find mentors, partners, and protégés. You’re an integral piece of the puzzle, and we’re glad you’re here. 

Day 5: Jump right in.

While you learn the ropes, you’re joining an established client team as they work with a mid-size healthcare payer to define ideal customer journeys, which will shape a more profitable long-term customer experience. Today you’re joining in a workshop where unique customer personas will be explored. 


Day 45: Relax and enjoy the culture

It’s time for an all-hands meeting. We’ll spend the afternoon highlighting current projects, recognizing our peers for jobs well done, and sharing key employee-owner updates. We’ll end the afternoon with a volunteer opportunity as part of our 1+1+1 initiative. 

Day 50: Invest in yourself. We’ll back you.

Our consultants have the opportunity to validate their technical know-how with the latest credentials and certifications. You may choose to test your your knowledge by taking the Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) exam. Need to study for it? We’ve got resources for that!


Day 75: Accept your next challenge. 

West Monroe has been engaged by a fitness provider who is struggling to generate new-member sign-ups and to maintain a steady utilization of the facilities among existing members. The goal of the project is to analyze member data to identify a set of typical member types and understand their differing behaviors and key characteristics. 

Day 100: Pick a path. 

Now that you’re a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), you want to help other new hires acquire the credential. Host a lunch-and-learn sponsored by the company to share your experience and help others prepare. Perhaps you’ll even lead a committee through our “Chiefs” program. From Chief Keg Officer to Chief Green Officer, this unique program allows for a leadership role within the culture of WMP. In addition to being fun and exciting, this allows an additional opportunity to meet other people, and lead something fun and impactful within the organization.

Our Recent Hackathon

We host hackathons to teach data science through competition. During our most recent hack-a-thon, through a Kaggle competition, our team competed with people around the world. Topics covered basic practices (Python, R, and Azure ML), predictive algorithms, and why or why not to use them. Our hackathons are 25% instruction and 75% competition, allowing for plenty of time to practice our skills.
