At any given time, you might:

  • Design, architect, and migrate a complex banking “software as a service” (SaaS) application out of a credit bureau’s on-premise environment to Microsoft Azure (Lift-and-Shift).
  • Partner with a private equity client on their acquisition of a B2B software company, identifying possible opportunities to help save money over time by migrating them to a cloud infrastructure before the final purchase.
  • Implement cloud strategies to improve business agility and speed to market for a bank or credit union.
  • Meet with a large organization’s CFO to share information on key performance indicators that can be affected by the cloud.

100 Days: Take a glimpse into your first few months on the job.

Our clients’ needs change every day — and so do the projects our consultants work on. Here’s a glimpse of one consultant’s journey. When you join West Monroe, you’ll create your own! 

Day 1: Meet your new work family.

You’re introduced to the West Monroe cloud and infrastructure practice, who you’ll collaborate with on a daily basis. On your team, you’ll find mentors, partners, and protégés. We believe you’re building the next generation of leaders. You’re an integral piece of the puzzle, and we’re glad you’re here.

Day 5: Moving to the cloud: more than a lofty goal.

By providing a highly adaptable platform, the cloud helps financial services organizations keep pace with the evolving expectations of the marketplace. Today, you’re observing a collaborative, inclusive team of West Monroe financial services experts and cloud consultants as they visit a large regional bank, to learn about their game-changing goals.

Day 30: Accept your next challenge.

A Fortune 500 company is struggling to transition their critical applications to the cloud. You’ll need to develop a roadmap and implement proven methodologies for migrating applications to cloud-based infrastructures.

Day 45: Work hard. Play hard. 

It’s time for an all-office meeting. We’ll spend the day highlighting current projects, recognizing our peers for jobs well done, and sharing key employee-owner updates. We’ll end the afternoon with a volunteer opportunity as part of our 1+1+1 initiative. It’s all part of our award-winning culture, and each person on our team is a contributor.

Day 50: Invest in yourself. We’ll back you.

Our consultants have the opportunity to validate their technical know-how with the latest credentials and certifications. Prepare for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Cisco certification exam during your non-billable hours, leveraging the great minds on your team as a valuable resource.

Day 60: Get your head in the clouds.

Time to work side-by-side with the client to turn the roadmap into reality. The right solution for this client is a blend of on-premise, co-location, and cloud services to offer greater manageability and cost predictability on an ongoing basis.

Day 100: Be an expert.

We know that work becomes something more when you have the opportunity to share a passion. Now that you hold an AWS/Cisco certification, you want to help other new hires acquire the credential. Host a lunch-and-learn, sponsored by the company, to share your experience and help others prepare.
