100 Days: Take a glimpse into your first few months on the job. 

Our clients’ needs change every day — and so do the projects our consultants work on. No two career paths are the same for our staff, just like no two days will be the same. Here’s a glimpse of one consultant’s journey. When you join West Monroe, you’ll create your own!

Day 1: Meet your new teammates. 

You’re introduced to the West Monroe Software Engineering practice, who you’ll collaborate with on a daily basis. On your team, you’ll find mentors, partners, and protégés. We believe in building the next generation of leaders. You’re an integral piece of the puzzle, and we’re glad you’re here.

Day 5: Jump right in. 

While you learn the ropes, you’re joining an established Software Engineering team as they meet with a commercial loan institution who wishes to establish a portal for interacting with brokers. The project requires a thorough understanding of business needs as well as the ability to develop a cutting-edge user interface using the latest technologies.

Day 30: Software that’s custom-fit. 

We know that successful software launches are a process, and not just a project. Today, you’re meeting with a new client to begin the discovery and user research that will be used to develop roadmaps to drive the project. Before a single team member writes any code — you’ll ensure the right strategies are in place and aligned with the client’s business goals.

Day 45: Relax and enjoy the culture.

It’s time for an all-hands meeting and to celebrate team success. We’ll spend the afternoon highlighting current projects, recognizing our peers for jobs well done, and sharing key employee-owner updates. We’ll end the day with a volunteer opportunity as part of our 1+1+1 initiative. At West Monroe, we’re all owners, and building our award-winning culture is everyone’s job.

Day 50: Invest in yourself. We’ll back you.

We encourage our consultants to continue learning and developing their skills. We know that the best ideas win, and so we offer internal training sessions where our employees can learn about a new technology or get deeper on tools and frameworks they already know. Our consultants have the opportunity to validate their technical know-how with the latest credentials and certifications. Our consultants are empowered to take the time they need to keep their technical skills sharp.

Day 75: Accept your next challenge.

A large hotel chain is hoping to build an app that makes billing simpler. Their current process is slow, hindering their ability to capture changes or last-minute charges - plus their customers are complaining. They’re looking for a fast, integrated system with a sleek user interface to make billing simple and efficient for all parties involved - and they’re turning to West Monroe to build it.

Day 100: Be the expert. 

We encourage our consultants to share knowledge, inside our building and out. Each of our consultants owns their career development and expanding their network is a part of that. Today, you’re giving a talk to the tech community at Microsoft Ignite. You’ll have the opportunity to hear about new technologies, discover tools for innovation, and share your expertise with a group who is excited to learn.
